Pope Francis, who directed the Roman Catholic Church for 12 years, died Monday morning at the age of 88.
Francis’s life and time, which was highlighted by humility and dissemination efforts for people with disparate history and religions, will be remembered during a funeral service that will take place on Saturday, said the Vatican.

Where and when is the funeral of Pope Francis?
The funeral of Pope Francis will take place on Saturday, April 26 at 10 am local time (4 in the east) and will take place in the Plaza de San Pedro or the Basilica, depending on the weather, in the city of the Vatican.

The Pope’s body will be placed in a cypreal forest coffin before the funeral and then will be placed in two other coffins that fit each other, each made of different types of wood, in its burial site.

Who will attend the funeral of Pope Francis?
Until Thursday, 130 foreign delegations have confirmed that they will attend the funeral of Pope Francis on Saturday morning, said the Vatican press office.
That number includes “approximately” 50 state heads and 10 reigning sovereigns.
President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prince William are among which they are expected to attend. Former President Joe Biden, the second Catholic president and former First Lady Jill Biden will also attend.
At the funeral, known as Missa Poenitentialis, the cardinals, clergy, representatives of world and diplomatic organizations, along with great crowds of the faithful, also attend.

Where will Pope Francis be buried?
After the funeral mass on Saturday, Francis will be buried outside the Vatican in St. Mary Major, a basilica in Rome. Francis will be the first Pope in more than five centuries to be buried there.
